I’m 52 years old, and for most of my life, I believed that one day I’d find inner peace—the kind that feels stable and lasting. And some days I do. But then there are others when inner turmoil makes me want to disappear.

I’ve come to realize that maybe it’s time to let go of the illusion that I will one day become a perfectly calm, steady person—untouched by the highs and lows that both delight and undo me. As someone sensitive, I feel both the beauty and the ache of existence. That double-edged coin is simply my nature. Surrendering to this truth has humbled me.

I belong to the earth—feet on the ground, pain and love in my heart.
