I’ve had so much fun making this new series. Instead of starting with a whole idea, I made small shapes in silver, knowing I’d figure out what to make with them later. 



As a kid, I’d cut out images from National Geographic magazines and then glue them back together to tell my own story. The same playfulness guided me here. I knew I wanted long earrings with lots of texture, like topographic maps pointing towards a hidden treasure.

Long statement earrings with soldered shapes and chiseled lines. Each earring (including the hook) is 3.34" (8.5 cm) long, 0.31” (0.8 cm) wide; and weighs 0.18 oz (5.2 grams).

These one of a kind earrings are hand-forged with 100% recycled sterling silver.

ARETES MAPA DEL TESORO II

Me divertí muchísimo creando esta nueva serie. En lugar de empezar con una idea completa, hice pequeñas formas en plata, sabiendo que luego descubriría qué hacer con ellas.

De niña, recortaba imágenes de revistas National Geographic y las volvía a pegar para contar mi propia historia. Ese mismo espíritu lúdico me guió ahora. Sabía que quería unos aretes largos con mucha textura, como mapas topográficos que apuntan a un tesoro escondido.

Aretes largos con formas soldadas y rayitas cinceladas. Cada arete (incluyendo el gancho) mide 8.5 cm de largo por 0.8 cm de ancho; y pesa 5.2 gramos.

Estos aretes son pieza única y están forjados a mano con plata 100% reciclada.

La plata oscurecida se aclara con el uso, pero las partes de bajo relieve se mantendrán oscuras.
